Video: Cycling IS the new golf – Peter Sagan practises putting … with his bike

Tinkoff-Saxo rider has a go at new hybrid sport … but don’t try it at St Andrews

It’s been a few years since the phrase “cycling is the new golf” started gaining currency, but Peter Sagan has upped the ante by practising some putting at his Tinkoff-Saxo team’s recent training camp on Gran Canaria.

Originally appearing on the Slovakian channel TV JOJ, the clip, which also features Italian trials world champion Vittorio Brumotti, was uploaded to YouTube by Peter Sagan Fans.

Quite what the blazers at the R&A, responsible for the rules of golf in most of the world, would make of it is anyone’s guess, but we wouldn’t recommend trying this on the 18th green at St Andrews …
