Trek is bringing two special evening events to each of its UK stores in Coventry, Glasgow and Milton Keynes - one providing a demonstration of its new Precision Fit bike fit programme, unveiled late last year, the other on women’s riding. The latter will also be coming to The Bike Factory in Chester.
The Precision Fit concept was first introduced in December to the pros at Trek Factory Racing. You can read more about it in this article on the team’s website, which explains the thinking behind the concept and follows Andy Schleck as he undergoes evaluation.
According to Trek Bikes UK, at the evenings being hosted in Glasgow, Milton Keynes and Coventry, “Trek Precision Fit instructor Jez Loftus will perform a bike fit using the latest in fit tools ad technology.
“Attendees will see what goes into a proper bike fit, and learn the importance of making a bike fit the rider, rather than forcing a rider to fit the bike. “
Those events will take place in Glasgow on 11 March at the Trek Bicycle Store at the Alpine Glasgow Outdoor Experience, and at the Trek Bicycle stores in Coventry and Milton Keynes on, respectively, 12 and 13 March.
The Ladies’ Night, which visits those three venues plus The Bike Factory in Chester, will be hosted by Trek’s Christina Garrison. Trek says: “At Ladies' Night evenings, attendees will learn how women all over the world experience many of the same issues while riding a bike.
“Chris’ talk will cover the reasons why skeletal anatomical differences between men and women cause different issues when it comes to swinging leg over saddle. Gain insight into the importance of making a bike fit your anatomy, and how saddles are the heart and soul of any bike fit.
“You’ll learn Chris’ “saddle comfort equation”, and leave prepared to resolve common issues that women experience while riding.”
Those are scheduled for Glasgow on 29 April, Coventry on 30 April, Milton Keynes on 1 May, and Chester on 7 May.
Further details of both the Precision Fit and the Ladies’ Night events, including timings, can be obtained by contacting the stores directly, and you’ll also need to reserve a place in advance.

Thanks for that great feedback, Neil. I'll pass that along to the store.
What about us London folk?
We'll be doing more of these throughout the year. This is just our next round of events.
Plus, MK is only half an hour from Euston, and the Trek Store here is right next to the station.
Had a bike fit done at MK a few weeks back (thanks Jay!) and it was really thorough, and has made a huge difference to my cycling since. I feel like i've got a new bike!
Certainly would recommend the folks there - friendly and knew their stuff.
