This event is internationally recognised by Les Randonneurs Mondiaux and run in accordance with their regulations.
You have effectively 10 days of cycling to complete the route to qualify for the audax climbing points. Bristol Glasgow Bristol 1600km over 7days qualifies for the distance & climb points. If you enter either the randonneur or the brevet populaire event you may swap to the other up to a week before the event.

Most pedestrians never look either way when they cross a side road. So you always have to expect them to step out regardless.
Except they will have the wrong tyres on for that day.
My view is it was a bit of a dodgy stunt, but I didn't see anything risky with the riding. A lot of cyclists riding up there are putting an effort...
I think separated or protected (not "segregated") infra delivers perceived safety in a way which having to trust everyone driving a motor vehicle...
