This fantastic mid-season ride out, will get you clocking miles with some nice hidden gems to keep you entertained along the way!
There are 3 routes,99 miles, 76 miles and 48 miles. The ‘Arrow’ gets its name from the long straight roads that feature in sections of this course. From the start you are quickly on wide extremely quiet roads, which feature throughout this rolling course.
The course is not hilly and you can really get up high in the gears and stay there for the duration of this flowing course.
The route effortlessly shows you endless views of quintessentially English patchwork rolling fields that the Melton district has to offer. Passing through many of the areas quaint villages and hamlets, with grand views of stately homes.
Now in its second year, the Arrow has moved to a bigger and better equipped event centre to cope with the demand for this excellent event.
Based in North Lincolnshire, home of the Lincolnshire Wolds and an area of outstanding natural beauty. With 3 route options this is a perfect sportive to suit all levels of riders. The course can be described as flat and rolling so is perfect for riders looking to rack up the miles or complete their first sportive.
Starting off at Market Rasen Racecourse we head south, immediately out on to quiet, traffic free, open country roads. Before heading for Lincoln the short course splits at Bardney, here the epic and standard courses cross the River Witham before hugging its banks through Washingborough, where we find our first feed stop on the outskirts of Lincoln. With a quick view of Lincoln Cathedral we again strike south to Metheringham for the Standard split.
The Epic riders will head as far south as Ruskington to then head north for an experience of miles of straight roads that surround the Wolds, here you can really open up and cover some ground. Cutting through many of the areas smaller enclosures, we pass by the old roman town of Horncastle before diving into the Lincolnshire Wolds for our final stretch back to the finish.
At the finish a warm welcome, massages, refreshments and a Finishers Medal will be waiting.
Glad to see so many with similar values to my own. BC completely misreading and continuing to ignore members.
