Written your Christmas wish list yet? If you haven’t, you might want to add Silca’s new £275 SuperPista Digital track pump and hope you’ve been a good boy/girl this year.
It’s the latest in a new batch of products from the company renowned for producing very lovely equipment, from tools to pumps and saddlebags.

The SuperPista Digital track pump is a third-generation version of a pump that has been around for 30 years and a favourite of the professional mechanics. It now incorporates two features apparently requested by consumers and mechanics: an accurate digital gauge and a gauge placed at the top of the barrel so it’s easy to see when you’re inflating tyres.
The digital gauge is powered by a 2032 coin cell battery and is backlit. The pump is rated up to 220psi or 15.1Bar so plenty for most applications including track bikes which run the highest pressure of any bicycles.

It’s handcrafted with an aluminium barrel and ash wood handle and an oversized aluminium base to provide stability during use. The hose is mounted at the top of the barrel and has a magnetic chuck storage for easy use.
The HIRO chuck is an all-metal design is claimed to provide a adjustability and extreme holding ability on all valves in a compact design.

It’s the most expensive track pump we’ve yet come across. But is it any good? Maybe if we can get our hands on one to test we’ll be able to find out. And yes it has gone straight in at the top of my Christmas list.

For that money, I’d want it
For that money, I’d want it to only deliver filtered, artisanal air to the tyre.

For that price, I could buy
For that price, I could buy the pump I use 7 times. What kind of insecurity do you have to justify purchasing one of these?
