If you like the enduro look, then you’ll get on with the well thought out Madison Flux Enduro jersey. Fit, features and performance come together to make a very wearable jersey that works well on its own or as an extra layer, at a reasonable price considering its pretty detailed construction.

The extremely lightweight fabric is a super-fine polyester and spandex mix, which gives it a lot of stretch, it wicks well and dries very quickly too. It feels super-soft against the skin and can be scrunched down small to fit in your pack. The downside to this is that it snags very easily, so beware of brambles and Velcro.

I found it comfy to wear both on cooler days but also extremely useful on very hot days when it was necessary to cover up from the sun. The thin fabric kept my arms protected and still cool, allowing the breeze in but keeping the heat of the sun off. Mesh panelling extends up both sides of the jersey right up under the armpit, while there are multiple laser cut ventilation holes in the centre of the back and a couple at the collar bones. A handy extra is a micro suede lens wipe sewn into the front hem.

I really like the slim cut of the Flux, it’s not tight but it is tailored for a fit that follows your body. Madison gets full marks for making both the body and the sleeves amply long too. The sleeves are raglan cut so there are no seams to rub under pack shoulder straps, and throughout the jersey all seams are flatlock stitched to prevent irritation. If you like to wear elbow pads the arms are a bit too narrow to fit them under without stretching the material though. A minor niggle is the rather generous neck – I’d prefer it higher and closer fitting to keep the sun off.

The Madison Flux Enduro jersey is a great all round piece of kit and if you’re not keen on lime green then the Flux also comes in red and turquoise.
