Canyon has spent the best part of 21 years building nothing but bikes. Today, that has all changed – the brand has stepped into the componentry market with the MTB Performance Flat Pedals, a set of pedals that Canyon has built to be the best available.

Canyon’s latest flat pedals have spent two years in development with help from the brand’s freeride and downhill athletes with the aim of hitting the perfect balance between grip, durability, and stability.

The alloy-bodied pedals come complete with a bi-directional concave profile from front to back and side to side. This has been chosen to create a bowl shape that should help the rider feel as if they’re ‘in’ the pedal. It’s a feature we’re seeing increasingly common on pedals, such as Wolftooth’s Flow pedals. But one the Performance MTB pedals, this has been achieved through a milled axle design and varying pin heights.

On top of that, we’re told that these pedals roll on high-grade sealed bearings and there are 10 replaceable pins on each side. The edges are then tapered to help fend off harsh rock strikes and there will be a service kit available, making these maintenance-friendly options.

Coming in small and large for different foot sizes, Canyon’s MTB Performance Pedals will set you back £93.95. They’re also available in two colours, black or silver.
