I’m a friend of Jim’s wife and I’m sharing this to illicit neither sympathy nor donations but to remind my fellow cyclists what can happen when a near miss isn’t a miss. Of course no end of care will necessarily save you from another’s inattention or stupidity but please when next your out, even on familiar roads, just take a second look at that junction, just take another look over your shoulder; you may well save yourself and your loved ones from a future full of hardship, pain and worry.

Thats tragic – especially given his profession.  I hope he gets the surgery and prosthetic he needs.
