That’s got to hurt. COVID adds an unwelcome randomness to the game. Bennett wasn’t announced as a non starter until he didn’t rock up on the starting ramp!

I could barely watch as I had 3 of the 5 in my team. Was resigned to them getting caught but Sam Bennett saved me. Once he latched back on, Trek suddenly lost their enthusiasm!

Great stage today. That break was awesome… six (then five) riders showing a clean pair of heels to the combined efforts of Trek and BEX… fab.

It was hard to keep sight of everyone as the conditions were so bad near the end, no helicopter shots and moto camera visibility down to about twenty metres, but I think he just couldn’t stay with the pace Quickstep set to tee up Evenopoel.

Same here, even if I’d brought Mas in as intended, I’d still be doing pretty poorly.

It is even more of a lottery

It is even more of a lottery than usual. I have had Herrada in for 3 stages thinking he would go in at least one break and hoover some KoM points. I have also made a rogue transfer today due to fat fingers & then not checking. Meant to bring Mas in but accidentally brought O’Conner in…… Could have been a lot worse.

Vine and Lutsenko not in the break. Got to wonder why they miss the break today on a stage so suited to them, especially after spending so much time trying to get in breaks so far this Vuelta. This stage was perfect for both of them…

    Totally agree with Waterloo,

Totally agree with Waterloo, this race is loads harder to judge form.

If I’m honest, it looks like dropping Roglic won’t pay off.  The high-risk Yates and Kuss combo could score as many points as him anyway.  My problem is, if Kuss gets burned off supporting a fading Roglic, he might drop out of contention anyway.  I definitely read that Roglic didn’t do his usual altitude work between The Tour and Vuelta, whatever that means for the race…

With my lowly position in Purist overall, this was a bonus opportunity to indulge my experimental/gambling bent.

I managed 11 in the standard game – can’t remember getting a worse score. I’ve  gone from 1st after 2 stages to 104th after 5!

I am certainly glad I didn’t make any transfers for this stage.
