Does anyone know if there is any research into using VR headsets with apps such as Zwift?

I’ve used Zwift and the films on Tacx and I love both of them (although not as good as being outside). Surely the next step is greater sensory immersion by strapping on a VR headset?

They had one set up at the NEC cycleshow about 3 years ago. I had a short ride and was really strange looking down at my virtual arms holding the virtual bars. First time I’d tried Zwift and was very impressive. I’m not sure why it wasn’t taken further but I think they’re focusing on more lower tech users than a few hi tech ones.
