If you are totally bored on lockdown, the minutes are well worth seeking out. That’s after you’ve drunk your fill of random Poor and Terrible tripadvisor reviews of restaurants and hotels.

Anyway, they’ve really got themselves believing in the “cycling anywhere in the New Forest is Illegal” thing – a perfect circular construct! Most of the wooded areas in the New Forest are open access under the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, with some permissive cycling gravel tracks running through, although they don’t appear to have been planned to get you anywhere. there are virtually no rights of way in these areas. But there are rights of way in other spots – more, please especially those bridleways cycleable since 1968!

New Forest roads are different, Dr Hockley – maybe if some of your members improved on their driving, things would turn out safer?

Fine point, bridleways are rideable, by horse or bicycle.  They make up most of my off road routes, and restrictive byways.  Southern Chilterns mainly.

And roads of course apart from motorways.  Are there many motorways crossing the new forest?

They seem to hate cyclists in the New Forest.  It’s the speeding motorists who kill and injure all the ponies.
