Womandatory hi-vis bras for cars then.

Why is it often recommended for cyclists to wear bright clothing (fair enough but it’s become condescending now), but not for drivers to buy brightly coloured cars? Maybe they should mount a load of rubber on the front of cars to absorb some of the impact force.
