Hello! Normally, it is pretty easy to Google headset questions but this one is a bit tricky. I have a bike with a tapered headtube and a tapered fork. However, the fork is 1.5 which make the crown race that followed with the headset of the bike too small to fit the fork (but there is only around 10mm left below the crown race). I tried to figure out whether any headset would accommodate a 1.5 fork to a tapered headtube but strangely enough there is only (ec44/40) a headset for converting the fork to a straight headtube. Can I just ignore the 10mm or get another crown race, is there a headset that works or… Can anyone please help?

Get rid of the crown race,

Get rid of the crown race, you don’t need it. That’s the way with a lot of forks and frames of late.
