Edge 40 series computers no longer have ‘device to device’ routing transfers

I'm kinda miffed to be told that this useful feature has been removed from the 540,840 and 1040 computers. Many a time , I've arrived at a group ride to find someone without the route or the final updated route for the ride. Got a Garmin? Ok I'll transfer it to you from mine. Well that will process will be phasing out as the new 40 units can't accept or transfer route files. Not a happy bunny.
