I have 2 frames to choose from – unfortunately cannot test ride them due to nonavailability and will need to place an order online, reason for seeking your inputs –

The geometry between the 2 frames is very similar, except for model A, the Reach is 3 mm longer n Stack is 7mm shorter when compared to model B. 

I am looking at a more “comfortable/relaxed” ride and am wondering if the 7mm Stack difference would make a noticeable difference ?

The above question does not taken into account Spacers, Stem Length/Angle, Raiser Handlebar, etc, which I understand can help me further customise the bike-fit – At this point only wish to compare the two frames and am wondeirng if a 7mm Stack difference will be noticed in terms of comfort.

I made up a spreadsheet (sad but I like MS Excel…) that allows me to test how any N+1 compares to a bike I know fits nicely. It lets me know how many spacers and how long a stem I’d need to get the fit spot on. It’s been really useful in terms of avoiding frames that are too stretched or would need an unsafe pile of spacers under the stem to get a good fit.

Whether stack is a problem
Whether stack is a problem depends on whether the bikes have a suitable range of spacers – there is usually about 25mm or more of adjustment, but if you need it slammed or at extreme top that 7mm might be a minor irritation. 3mm of reach – forget it, that’s a minor shuffle on the saddle.

Unless you have a target arrangement, taking measurements from your current bike, I doubt it is worth worrying about those differences, given you don’t know which one is likely to be nearer your fit.

I recently bought a Giant Revolt which has a few mm difference from my Defy and it was easy enough to settle on a comfy fit based on, but not identical to my Defy, but I deliberately bought the Revolt based on its dimensions being similar. The biggest difference was the seat tube being 20mm lower, which just meant having the seat post measure 20mm higher. Hard to tell real differences in contact points with swept bars, different hoods and so on.
