Chain marking, eh?

I bought some replacement chains for an (Ultegra) R8170 groupset, (road race) bike came with a Shimano CN-M8100 chain.
They are legit, but all have different markings on (apart from the usual ‘VIA Japan’, hyperglide and 8100 markings). Internet search none the wiser – so what does ‘UL’ on one and ‘XF’ on another signify, simple non-stylised text in middle of link?
    Thanks.

    “XF” likely to be a

“XF” likely to be a manufacturing date code (June 2025 by extrapolation from this source)

“UL” might be for “Underwriter’s Laboratories”, a U.S. safety testing organization. They mainly do electrical stuff, but do produce testing standards for e-bikes that include aspects of the bike’s mechanical construction, so maybe it’s to show the chain would be OK for an American e-bike.
