Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

They don’t mean the kind of

They don’t mean the kind of activists who do kill and maim people every day (but never mean it) though, they’re concerned about the ones who don’t kill or injure any people (but do mean to disrupt)!

    Whenever there’s a mass

Whenever there’s a mass shooting in the land of the free, the first thing that tends to be claimed is that it is not terror related. It is wrong. The only point of a mass shooting is to instil terror.

    It’s a fair point:

    It’s a fair point:

7Interference with use or operation of key national infrastructure

(1)A person commits an offence if—

(a)they do an act which interferes with the use or operation of any key national infrastructure in England and Wales, and

(b)they intend that act to interfere with the use or operation of such infrastructure or are reckless as to whether it will do so.

    […]

(6)In this section “key national infrastructure” means—

    (a)road transport infrastructure […]

Yes, they’re a whirlwind of activity when such anti-socials are concerned- but strangely forgiving where it’s hard-working motorists. This is the failed MOT of PJ07 NFP, which has regularly been seen, filmed and reported driving around Garstang without insurance, MOT or VED for over 3 years. Entertainingly, the vehicle has now disappeared from the DVLA website- my last encounter in August showed that there’s been no VED since 31.1.20. People are sick of seeing shots of WU59 UMH, the local champion of freedom, at over 6 years fighting the War on Motorists by failing an MOT on 23.9.23 for dangerous defects but continuing to drive- with the support of Lancashire Constabulary

    Just been reading about the

Just been reading about the latest Just Stop Oil protest having a premium police response – “Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, the Met said its officers had arrived within four minutes of receiving a report of the protest and began making arrests. The force said it arrested 61 people, all of whom were still in custody on Monday afternoon.”

    https://theguardian.com/environment/2023/oct/30/met-arrest-more-than-60-climate-activists-just-stop-oil-protest-first-use-powers-public-order-act

I was intrigued as why section 7 of the Public Order Act 2023, which bans any act “which interferes with the use or operation of any key national infrastructure in England and Wales” isn’t used to immediately arrest drivers who crash and block roads etc.

    Chippenham woman was so drunk

Chippenham woman was so drunk she crashed car into McDonald’s

The heavily intoxicated 54-year-old crashed her Fiat 500 into a bin and a curb [sic] when she arrived at about 10pm on Tuesday (24 October) – and narrowly avoided hitting a lamppost.

After ordering her meal at the Bath Road drive-through, she was told to park in the waiting bay. As she attempted to do so, she struck the building and a raised seating area.

Saw this in the Graun earlier

Saw this in the Graun earlier. 8 pedestrians had to be taken to hospital (3 of them to major trauma centres) after a man in his 20s drove a Range Rover into a bus stop in Aldwych at about 3.30 am.

Met Police: “At this stage, the incident is not being treated as terror-related.”

Hmmm. The poor victims might feel differently. SUVs and other vehicles ‘terrorise’ the streets of towns and cities across the country every day.

Also today a passenger died and two others were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries when a Mercedes overturned on the M4 and caught fire. [article] And a driver died in a single-vehicle crash on the A55 early on Saturday morning.

£39 for a council bulky item

£39 for a council bulky item collection, which is rather less than is usually charged to recycle an old appliance if as you say, you’re having a new one.

    Presumably he has got himself

Presumably he has got himself another fridge, this will have to be installed somehow, if new, you pay for them to take away the old one, or a second hand one, when someone brings it in you ask them to put the old one outside for the council. Unless he expects the council to install his new fridge too…
