Running this one up the flagpole to see who salutes…

I just don’t remember this being a thing until recently, now it seems a daily occurrence.
Could it be that there are drivers not up to the job, too many cars; should houses be made to ride in single file, shops put on high viz, why are we putting newer buildings in danger like this, it’s irresponsible.

‘A Dorset Police spokesperson said: “Dorset Police was called at 12.48pm on Thursday, August 13, to a report of a collision involving a car and a wall outside Iceland on Poole Road in Bournemouth.

“It is reported that the vehicle was also in collision with a pedestrian, but they did not require medical treatment.” ‘

The infamous A6 traffic lights in Garstang, scene of the Lancashire Constabulary competition for who can enter the junction the longest time after the lights turned red, recently experienced a collision with the pole holding the lights which is now bent. Unfortunately, I wasn’t there when it happened- it was someone turning right off the A6 who hit the nearside lights on the road he was turning into. Presumably he was aiming for the winner and travelling pretty fast.

    Must be bloody cyclists again…

    From last month but clearly

From last month but clearly this sort of thing is happening more often:

“A white Volkswagen Golf has crashed into a bus stop on St Leonard’s Street, just off Bernard’s Terrace this evening, as one boy appears to be uninjured leaving the car, an eyewitness has reported. … the car appears to have lost control and crashed head on into the bus stop.”

    Car smashes into wall forcing

Car smashes into wall forcing road in Bristol to be closed

A car crashed into a wall on a Bristol road on Monday (December 20), causing “significant damage”.

Police, fire, and the ambulance service were called to Shaldon Road in Ashley Down at around 11:20am to a report of a single vehicle in which a car hit a wall, and the road was closed while the crash was dealt with.

A woman involved had “self-rescued” from the car before emergency services arrived, and she is not thought to have suffered any injuries.

So – “woman involved”, not “the driver”?  Clearly the car escaped, took a woman hostage, and then drove itself into a wall…
