Hi All
I have a Trek Emonda SL5 Disc and it came stock with a wheelset that simply states “Bontrager TLR” – No model number anywhere to be found and nothing on Trek’s website either.
Anyone know what sort of weight these stock wheels are likely to be? I don’t have accurate enough scales to work out – All I can say is that they are 26mm deep and 24 spoke.
Looking at either a DT Swiss ER1800 (1750g) or Alex CDX4 (1580g) – Both have a rider weight limit a good 15kg higher me+bike so I am good there. On paper the CDX4 are a good deal lighter than the DT Swiss but the DT Swiss are a bit more aero and have the ratchet freehub , I also think the DT Swiss look better but that’s a side point.
Ultimately if the stock wheels are 1900/2000g which in my experience is typical stock wheel weight then i think it will be worth the spend otherwise might just leave it.
Anyone with info on the stock Bontrager TLR wheels?
