Walscheid was a good pick….he looked strong in the world championship TT. I had him in my first drafts for a long time, definitely had a chance of top ten in the TT.

I went with three second level sprinters who can time-trial (Walscheid,  Laporte & Teunissen) as a three stage strategy and missed out on Philipsen as a consequence. Not sure how that leaves me now. Dithered between Van Poppel or Groves with final 14 million but felt that Groves was more consistent…… can’t legislate for crashes & Covid!!,

I’ve just heard tomorrow’s stage and Saturday’s Friday’s stage have apparently been cancelled. These are the stages that venture into the Netherlands and they’ve been cancelled due to tighter Covid restrictions.

My notes from a couple of years ago say that at the sprint points, there is an extra point if the breakaway is more than 30 seconds ahead of the peloton and 2 extra points if more than 1 minute ahead.
