Running a car is costly, but many people still require car or at least think they do. Some would cycle if facilities were better. Some think buying a bike is too expensive. It’s clear that car ownership is deeply entrenched in the UK and I admit that I’ve had one for years (the family car is a bit of a banger), though I much prefer being on two wheels and find driving a car in London to be an exercise in frustration 70% of the time.
