So, we often ask what it takes for a dangerous killer driver to get a lifetime ban.
Here’s an example when the rare event occured:
https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/24983989.thomas-nibbs-avoids-jail-wife-dies-accrington-by-pass/It’s a terrible case where an 88 year old driver did an illegal u-turn, collided with another vehicle, and ended up killing his wife who was the passenger in his car. No jail time, but the 88 year old driver will never drive again.
I suspect that if the driver had not collided with another vehicle but with a cyclist, and that cyclist had died, there would not be a lifetime driving ban.
