Vuelta Stage 2: Pontevedra – Baiona. Alto Do Monte Da Groba

Good stage yesterday with some interesting results, especially with the likes of Betancur and a few other potential GC guys being dropped before the finish line, but today the real fun starts.

Flat-ish stage today with a summit finish, will the GC guys look to put down a marker, will the likes of Valverde/Rodriguez try to take some time bonuses and make up lost time on Nibali or will Astana look to get rid of the leaders jersey now and let a breakaway go?

    Should be an interesting day.

Well, somehow, I had a good day. Saw points total and feared the worst, but seems we all took a bit of a hit. Great win for Roache and Saxo but came a bit out of leftfield. Here’s to a continued eventful Vuelta!

    I see they finally added
I see they finally added Sanchez’s name to the stage results. He was at +2:41 with his teammates who waited for him. Strange that it took two hours for his name to appear.

If it had been a bigger group
If it had been a bigger group up the road I would have agreed that it’d be hard to pull back but with a decent climb at the end of the stage I’d bet on the peloton pulling anything up to 15mins back.
