How much difference should I notice?

Just ordered a new Basso Laguna 105 to replace an ageing 2000 vintage Giant OCR. I'm interested in just how much bike technology has advanced in 13 years and will I really notice that big a difference? I hope a lot as I've just parted with a lot of cash!!!
