Hi all, sad question but got my nice body paint 2 shorts, but don’t want to ruin them in wash.

Can i use nikwax tech wash? like I use for my gabba Jersey? (Castelli recommended this)

Or just use non bio on a simple 30wash?
    Cheers

I’ll not use nikwax tech wash then:-) I’ll try non bio liquid taps and let you know results.

PS gabba works well after nikwax treatment

    Not sure about heavy grease
Not sure about heavy grease stains but some kind of detergent or stain remover should be OK provided you wash it out thoroughly.

For washing a little Ecover laundry liquid in the washing-up bowl and use some elbow grease. Only takes a few minutes, then the shorts go on the line.

I got these and was on the RAB, my chain dropped and somehow I managed to get chain grease everywhere. Never got the damn stain out and I love these bibshorts.

If you carefully rub Swarfega (original green gel version) into the grease stain, leave for 20 minutes, rinse out and then wash as normal, I find this successfully gets rid of grease stains.

I don’t trust any of my cycling gear in the washing machine. I use Pro-Clean Kit wash and the kitchen sink with warm water and wash it all by hand.

Ring it out as best I can and hang on the line for the day. Then inside the warm cupboard on a air dryer over night :B

I have the body paint ones too. I try to use liquitabs – non-bio etc. I wouldn’t recommend putting them in the dryer.

Does the nikwak work on the Gabba? I haven’t treated mine, and it still seems to do the job.
