    Low Speed Wobble

    Stripping and regreasing my bb and hubs, regularly. Typically using proprietary Sram grease. Was wondering what the feeling is on the best low-friction grease. Any favourites?

    Seriously, I don’t think there is necessarily a ‘best’ grease, and would suggest that one that is too thin may not do the job as well as one which appears a little stodgy but will coat the bearings better. The end result is shortened bearing and race life.

    Precisely because I don’t think the most expensive is necessarily the best. There are many tinkerers and fettlers on road.cc who will have stumbled across otherwise unsung brands. I guess you’re not one of them then.

    Thanks to the others that commented – I’ll give the Sram a miss this time and pick up the Weldtite or Exus and see how they run.

    I previously used the red
    I previously used the red weldtite on hubs etc, but found that it got washed out of my hubs in the atrocious weather of last year, making the rear hub knock as though it was about to fall apart.

    My preference is now for what is best described as sticky blue grease. I’m currently using Exus E-G01, but I’m not sure if it’s really any different to the stuff you can buy cheaply in a marine chandlers.
