New Rim Advice

    Hi,
    I don’t know if anyone can give me some advice.

    I have a set of Ultegra 66600 wheels, but the front has had a small ding that is noticable under breaking. These are the Sunday best, so apart from that these are still good.

    However it is one of those annoying things that bugs you every time you ride.

    So my question. Does anyone know of a set of rims with the same dimensions that I could swap without having to change spokes?

    The only info I can find is 16 spoke count with 284mm spoke length for the front and 20 with 272/300 mm straight pull spokes at the back.

    Thanks for the advice, I looked a bit more but found the whole wheel cheap at Evans, and this weekend the had an extra £15 so it ended up being cheaper than buying a rim 🙂

    Pretty sure that the hubs on these wheels are not the same as regular 6600 hubs, especially if they use straight pull spokes.

    with a front hub as shimano 6600, and putting in numbers until the correct spoke length comes out.

    I get an ERD of 602 (0 OSD, 16 spokes, 0 cross spoking )

    Mavic open pro may be suitable, would it be an issue using straight pull spokes?

    anything on here that would fit? Can’t see 6600 but there is a 6700 rim, hard to say if it would fit without the dimensions

    One of the downsides of pre-assembled wheels with proprietary parts is the spares availability. With only 16 spokes, those spokes are going to be pretty high tension as well – could be challenging to swap the rim.
