Saddle for 133mm sit bones

    Hi,

    I’m looking to buy a new saddle due to my current Selle Italia Flite gel is causing me pains.
    I’ve measured my sit bones with some tin foil and i got 133mm from dip to dip.
    Which saddles should i possibly look at?

    Another vote for the Specialized – got one after a proper fit (also well worth it) at Sigma. They were good enough to lend me a Romin Evo Expert for a couple of weeks after the fit – was excellent and ended up buying one. Have done two 24hr rides and Dunwich Dynamo on it since buying

    After getting my sit bones
    After getting my sit bones measured at a Specialized store I have a Romin Evo Pro 143mm – easily the most comfortable saddle I have ever ridden on despite the minimal padding, don’t mess about, get measured properly and take a look at the Specialized saddles, mine was the best £100 I have spent on my bike.

    I got a specialised roman for my road bike – best saddle i have ever had and easily as comfie as my worn in brooks on the brompton (but with the ability to tilt forwards more)

    Try the Thorn saddle from SJS
    Try the Thorn saddle from SJS cycles – £10, with titanium rails! Pretty narrow. And, you can peel the logos off, so it’s plain black. (Mmmmm).

    I’ve been riding with a
    I’ve been riding with a Specialized Toupe BG saddle for a few years, found it very comfortable. They’re sold in a variety of widths and specialized dealers do that butt measurement in the shop (the device is basically a ruler and a sponge).

    …about why this measurement isn’t ideal. You could ask to try the saddles?

    I’ve seen adverts for both
    I’ve seen adverts for both Selle Italia and Specialized BG saddles coming in various sizes to suit different sit bones. Might be worth looking at their sites or visiting a stockist. Saddles are so personal.

    For example, I use a Charge Spoon on my mtb and many say the SDG bel air
    is similar but I couldn’t get on with an SDG at all.

    Btw, please don’t reuse the tin foil for wrapping your packed lunch 😉
