Need help with road shoe fit

    Hi,

    I’ve had to buy a new pair of road shoes a full size larger so that I can wear a thick pair of socks to keep my feet warm during the winter. However, I was just watching a you tube video on road shoe fit and the bloke says that the shoe must fit snuggly. What do you guys say?

    I’ll have a look at the heated insoles.

    Big shug, I also have been wearing neoprene toe covers OVER by Windstopper overshoes! And still get cold toes. 🙁

    Have you looked at electrically heated insoles? I’ve never used them myself but Maplin’s have them.

    Wow that’s a problem. I’m told women’s bodies keep heat close ro the core so often have cold hands & feet. Sounds like a case of if it feels good do it. May have to use loose fit in winter snug in summer

    I already use thermal
    I already use thermal windstopper overshoes with my normal cycling shoes, a thermolite or thin merino wool sock, and a footwarmer insole but my feet still get cold. Hence the reason for purchasing a larger sized shoe to accommodate a thick wool sock. My foot is not floating around in the shoe but there is more room in the toe box. Just wondering if that’s not good.

    I had to buy the shoes from online retailer because cycle shops don’t carry good quality women’s shoes in a variety of sizes. Very frustrating finding women’s kit!

    Should fit snuggly I cold weather use overshoes or specialist thermal cycling socks . Loose fitting shoe’s can rub causing blisters etc
