TOC Stage 2

Well I really enjoyed the stage yesterday – exciting racing and amazing views. Today looks tougher, so question is, can Sagan/Haussler/van Avarmaet/Boonen et al still get over the hills with the lead group? I think yes, but if not then it could be a sprint between the non-sprinters, much like the early stages in the Basque country and Romandie…

screw my transfers!!!! didnt think they would all get over!!! well points lost today!!! ToC is written off along with the Giro, just need to not loose ground overall now! Le Tour is mine 😛 although blew my chance of a win in the TDU finishing 4th

If I hadn’t made one mistake in the TDU I would have won it 😉 😉

Cav has been a disaster for me in the Giro. Whenever I put him in he crashes, when I have him out he wins. Still got a very slim chance of winning if I get another Rubiano moment or play very well, but I very much doubt it.

Lets just say we both could have won the TDU, but i defo blew a podium spot!

I like the fact of having both races but each to there own.

Already made my transfers, had to bring in Haussler and Howard (so now they wont be there at the finish)

I’ve had 3 or 4 good days in the Giro and the gap to 1st is still widening! However well I do I always seem to fall back, I’m now 170 points off 1st place and with everyone having pretty much the same riders over the next week and a half I don’t see how I’ll catch up.

The ToC is ok but does seem predictable, I’ve had 3 of the top 5 on each of the first two days, got 136 today and dropped 15 places! Too easy to score big points and not enough changes in profile between stages to make people think and make transfers. It’s fun, but not a patch on the Giro.

    Lovely views but the racing
Lovely views but the racing is predictable. Forgot to put in a team for stage 1 but made one in the end for stage 2 before I’d seen stage 1 results but luckily had the right key riders, Sagan, Haussler and van Avermaet.

Would have been better if I’d put in my team for stage 2 after watching stage 1, then I could have stuffed my team with all the best riders. Could be a strategy for these little tours in future??

    What do people think?

Quite nice it’s on late at night when the kids are in bed but to be honest I’d rather not have a distraction when a major tour like the Giro is on. Maybe next year just have little tours on when they don’t clash with the big three.

Oh just so everyone knows, I had De Maar in my team until 10 minutes before I chose my final team, and his replacement McCarty has done nothing 🙁 (definite Gkam moment picking the wrong guy off the shortlist)

I’m going to try and pick up
I’m going to try and pick up a puncture in the closing stages of my next race. It’s an odd tactic, but it seems to be working out well for Sagan! :p
