Well, if the race is anything like last year there may be very (!) few DSs that score in the top 20 (!). Ben Hermans is the only current DS I can see that scored any significant points last year. He came in 7th. Bram Tankink came in 19th and Fabian Wegmann 20th.

    Some quick maths for you,
Some quick maths for you, getting 1st, 2nd and 3rd gives you 120 points, if you don’t get any of the top 3 you need 4-10 and 17th to get 120 points.

Make of that what you will…

Well ive got a top 30’s star,
Well ive got a top 30’s star, a low 30’s star, a low 20’s star and another star that i dont think many will go for

As for DS’s ive got some wiggle room with them, range from low teens right down to one of the cheaper ones

Should be interesting and could shake up the classics comp

    Provisional teams picked, no
Provisional teams picked, no idea how my purist team will do, just crossing my fingers hoping I end up with more than 5 riders for Fleche Wallone and L-B-L.

On DSs, I think there’s plenty of possible decent finishers, in fact my purist team has a few average priced stars and some expensive DSs that I think will score well. The major decision seems to be whether you want expensive stars like Sanchez, Gilbert and Rodriguez or whether you can live with cheaper stars and then afford some better DSs.

Quickly sorted a team as i’m away for a few days with no net access so at least i’ve got a team in.

Re DS: if you do a bit of digging there are quite a few who are in form at the mo (and are really cheap) and have done well in past years it just takes that little bit extra effort to dig them out.

    But who is guaranteed, 100%
But who is guaranteed, 100% to be competing in all of the next 3 spring classics. We purists need a Tardis. . .
Is Simon Gerrans doing all 3? #agr, #fw, and #lbl

Look a bit further back, just outside the top 20 or 2010, 2009 or 2008 results. Also look at the results in Spain, with uphill finishes in last couple of weeks. Found 2 DS there.

I think there are a couple of DSs that are likely to score. I dont wanna call any names but there are some highly considered riders that are capable of finishing high up on hilly terrain.
