Ah, now that’s little more like it. Still overpriced, but doesn’t make me choke on my drink! Thanks.

Sorry, I should have been a bit clearer. I’m referring to the little grease port that is on the side of Speedplay pedals for bearing lubrication without disassembly.

I’ve seen the lube itself for about £11 (thanks Jimmo) but the gun is another £30! It’s a proprietary size I think, as well.

Presumably you can just get bearing grease in a little gun?

(Grease is already on the spindles, but not needing a gun, that is easier to apply. I use dry lube on the cleat, since that is the moving part, not the pedals.)

EDIT: Ah, you beat me to it Ashley, thanks for the pointers.

jimmo62, thats just for the grease, you still need a gun to apply it to the internal bearings.

You can buy cheaper grease guns… I have this one and it works fine :

Here is some advice for when you first try it, leave the pedals on the bike, it makes applying pressure to pedal much easier.

Here is a video too :

Spin the pedals while you push the grease through, this makes sure you get all the old dirty grease out.

here is another video of someone doing it with a 3mm syringe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_x1hst38NpA

    Happy Pedalling

Just use some generic copper grease for the threads, assuming it’s the threads you’re talking about and not the surface of the cleat plates.
