Okay, so we've reached the point where we've nearly built all the bits of the 2012 Fantasy Cycling game, only three days after it started. There's still a few things to do on the, erm, to-do list and these are they:
1) rider form graphs and stage points on their pop-up profiles (plus headshots of everyone)
2) tabs in user leagues for the different competitions
3) invite box to invite a friend
4) system emails with stage updates and previews
5) mobile version of siteall of this is scheduled to be ready for the Paris-Nice.
is there any other functionality you'd like to see? if so, comment below. we won't guarantee that we'll build it but we do try and make the game as playable and friendly as possible.
please note: this is not the place to discuss possible rule/scoring changes, as there won't be any rule/scoring changes. the rules are set for the season.
cheers!

A trend line isn’t super helpful when stages differ so drastically.you know you can click on your score to see your team and their individual scores, right?

I appreciate the comments
I appreciate the comments about the rider values, just thought i would throw it in for discussion. 😉drheaton
Removing the cap would be
Removing the cap would be good so you can have 3 stars, or 5 stars or whatever, for some races (ToC, the classics) I had plenty of budget left and would have loved some cheap stars but the restriction makes the game interesting and I’d be happy for it to stay.chrisdstripes

Likewise Basso who was in poor form is cheap at 28 and Gilbert who’s been crap is expensive at 40, there’s no way to predict how each rider will do or what role they’ll play throughout the season at the start of January.
The key to the game has always been finding value, especially with DSs, and having had breakout seasons the likes of Guardini, Kristoff and Gavazzi will no doubt be stars and considerably more expensive next year. However new DSs will come up and replace them as great value sprinters/climbers.
Unless you’re happy for rider values to be set per race there really isn’t much that can be done about it.
I agree – the only fair way is to just pick which algorithm you’re going to use and stick to it. I don’t know how they decided the values for this season – but for next year presumably some kind of system that accounts for world ranking and points scored in the game for the previous 2 seasons (average points per day’s racing or whatever). Some guys would come out a bit overpriced, and some would come out as bargains – depending on the race – thats just the fun of it.I think its a fantastic game – the only thing I’d consider changing is how its decided which riders are DS and which are stars. Personally I’d prefer slightly less stars (eg max 6 per team) and the option of choosing either 3 or 4 in your team rather than the enforced 4, but maybe thats over-complicating things?

perhaps a screen created towards the end of the season for people to put their opinions on riders value on might be helpfull for the powers that be to value the riders for next year.
Such as Ben Swift – classed as a sprinter but is much more expensive than the likes of Guardini or Kristoff who are both v good sprinters.

I’m too lazy to check if this
I’m too lazy to check if this has been asked for already but could we have a total number of participants in each league at the top of the page so I know just how mediocre my standing is? There are so many tied positions that just knowing I’m in 99,999th place doesn’t tell me how bad that is.orli
I think I’ve mentioned this
I think I’ve mentioned this before, or someone had suggested it before, but, I was wondering if you could add a column to the Stage scores pages. Right now they show your score that particular day for the stage run that day.I was wondering if you could add a column that let you know your standing in the overall competition that day. For example I might have scored 106 points in yesterday’s stage and, if we had it, the column next to it would tell me I was 46th in the overall competition that day.
Thanks! 🙂

How would another column work, if you’re in say 4 leagues?
For points behind, I would just look under `User~Automatic Leagues’ & pick League name to see where you areorli
I like this idea!

I’m not sure if this belongs in this thread, but, since this thread seems more active, thought I’d ask here…. 🙂vivian… wrote:I’m pretty new at this. I was looking at ‘My Team’ page and saw that I can see the scores for each of the last 5 stages. What if I wanted to see the scores for, for example, Stage 1 of the TDU? Is there another place I can go see that? Especially since I guess with newer races, the ‘older’ races will get ‘buried’ by the newer ones. Thanks! Fun game! :) -
