OK, you have to do this regularly, it doesn’t count if you have cycled to work once or cycled past your work on a weekend jaunt plus you have to cycle back the same day to where you started from. Also it has to be current, not ‘back in the day’. It will be interesting to see if some of us cover the same route but have never met.

    About 11 miles each way 3- 4
About 11 miles each way 3- 4 times a week. Mostly fairly flat (up and down a bit of the A6) as I live out on the edge of the Lancashire Fylde and work in Preston. Not a bad ride but often a killer wind usually coming off the Irish Sea.

My colleague cycles a similar distance in from Blackburn. His route is almost the opposite direction to mine (compass wise) so usually when I get in to work knackered with a head wind all the way, he arrives like a rocket! I then pray that the wind doesn’t change direction during the day.

My commute pretty much the same as Dave ‘cept he lives a bit higher up the hill. I try to go home at lunchtime just to up the mileage and stop me getting fat

12 miles each way, five days a week, all year.

So far in 2009 I’ve used my car to commute twice. I had pulled a muscle in my calf, and wanted it to recover by the weekend when I had a ride planned!
