OK, you have to do this regularly, it doesn’t count if you have cycled to work once or cycled past your work on a weekend jaunt plus you have to cycle back the same day to where you started from. Also it has to be current, not ‘back in the day’. It will be interesting to see if some of us cover the same route but have never met.

15 Miles each way, 2-3 times per week, but only for another 6 weeks as I move to Canada.

All I know is that I got absolutely drenched yesterday, but it made me power up Kingston Hill for the whole way the first time ever.

    Rain sucks.

Yeah i find cycling for me is much faster than the bus or car and it’s healthy. It can get boring doing a shorter route every day, so i change my route, slightly, every month or so just to shake it up a bit.

2.5 miles each way on the shortest route. I am at university so i usually have to do it more than once each way so it ends up around 8 miles a day, which is nice, not when it’s cold though! It’s really hilly where i live too so the way there is great but the way back with the wind and the hills, ouch. I’ve come from cycling in a place where the gradient is so small it’s negligible so it took a while to adjust. By the Fringe, i think it’s great posties get to ride bikes, i’ve seen the police and ambulance service doing it in the inner city doing it too, i’d do that job just for the cycling 😀

In the summer I ride all the way in 2 or 3 times a week, 18 miles there & 19 miles home to avoid going straight up the steep hill! About 15 miles is along the Bath-Bristol cycle track which is very pleasant and traffic free.

Other days its a 2.5 mile ride straight downhill to the train station and then another mile or so ride the other end so a total of about 7 miles. Got a knackered old bike locked up at Bristol Temple Meads for the little jaunt to the office.

I’t about 10 miles there and 10 miles back. I do that 3 days a week, the other 2 I car share, my car rarely leaves its parking space nowadays!

ive never measured my commute, but its from south Bristol to the beginings of north Bristol, so about 1.5 to 2 miles. 5 days a week, there and back. as for seeing people on my commute, its all taxi drivers (and later night/early morning clubbers on a sat morning) as im a postie, do get to ride a post bike up a hill as well, so as to get to first delivery point. so i reckon 20 miles in total all week.

sounds like a breakfast picnic in richmond park might be fairly well attended, and it would give TR a decent workout 🙂

Can you put where you are
Can you put where you are travelling to and from please. Also, does anybody cycle in with another person or do you soldier on alone? I always sweated it out on a power commute, like the yorkshire pk ripper, but then again I never left myself enough time for a leisurely pedal. Anybody fancy a bike breakfast in London this week, after all it is bike week? I’ll start another thread.

10 miles each way for me most
10 miles each way for me most days. I’ve gone back to the road recently as the cycle path (an old rail line) shakes my bones too much and dont get me started on the broken glass, dog walkers, hoodies….
despite the road adding another mile to the journey its still quicker as the surface allows me to ride a gear higher.

5 miles each way. Every day.
5 miles each way. Every day. Quicker than any other form of transport (car included).

Boring and has no discernible fitness benefit. I should head off in the opposite direction more often….
