Winter Gloves

    Can anyone recommend a really good pair of gloves for the winter for road biking. To make it more complicated they probably need to be women specific as most of the mens gloves I’ve tried on are to short in the fingers and wide across the palm for me. I’ve looked at Sealskins, Giro Candella and Specialized so far. Thanks 🙂

    and another thing, neoprene
    and another thing, neoprene seems to have the most favourable bulk/insulation ratio IMO, so you can feel stuff through then , do zips up, adjust yer helmet strap and stuff so yeah!

    They do look like a really
    They do look like a really good option for the bike. I want warmth but I really won’t like anything to bulky. How do you find the pressure on your hands and wrists as there isn’t any gel padding on the palms like normal cycling gloves?

    your hands sweat a bit inside
    your hands sweat a bit inside them. but it doesnt make you cold, as the sweat just gets warmed up instantly and serves as a very efficient heat exchange system within the glove. need daily rinse and airing cup oard dry though. the fluid sealed ones are best.

    Interesting re the wetsuit gloves, looked at some online and they have grippy palms and are close fitting. Might give those a whirl! Thanks 🙂

    a pair of 3mm wetsuit gloves
    a pair of 3mm wetsuit gloves from yer local scuba shop. very very warm and water proof.

    I tried the Aldi ones when
    I tried the Aldi ones when they came in but unfortunately even the small was to big for me. They were nice gloves too. Got my summer mitts from Aldi, they do great bits and pieces now and then 🙂

    If you are after a cheaper
    If you are after a cheaper pair and if you are lucky, Aldi might still do theirs. not bad for £5. They are some of the best winter gloves I’ve used. Pretty waterproof and breathable. If you cant get a pair, keep a look out next Autumn.

    I am sat at my desk at work
    I am sat at my desk at work in my lunch hour looking at the split finger ones from Craft and mimicking how my fingers would be positioned in the gloves then placing them on imaginary handlebars and checking out how I would operates brakes and gears :S Luckilly my colleague has his back to me! Thanks for the tips guys, I suffer with cold hands and feet too so I want an effective pair. I’ll check these out in more detail later. Yes indeedy Rapha ones are very nice but are a quarter of the cost of what I’ve just paid for a winter bike. Hubby, he say No!

    I’ll just chip in my 2p, I use the same set of gloves through out the year, they happened to be a freebie from Evans for a comment i left when they asked a question about cycling apps and i was deemed to be “helpful” to which they sent me these, already had a wore out pair

    The Rapha Winter Glove gets quite a few shouts – particularly in the dry (it’s leather)

    The Craft Siberia are toasty says IanBoydon

    Prendas says gusk; emerydavid is another to recommend the Rapha gloves but also reckons the Fox Antifreeze are a good cheap option
