    nope… there is plenty of provision already existing, called roads. increasing segrargation only promotes the concpet that roads are for cars only.

    the costs of such a new infrastucture would be better spent educating all road users in better understanding of each other’s needs, requirements, responsibilities and (dare I say it) rights.

    i could rant on but you’ll have heard it before 🙂

    Sorry about that. Since posting this I’ve seen this e-petition aswell, an interesting debate in itself. Apart from the grammar and the Daily Mail-esque style at the beginning I agree with much of this argument. Particularly the “Provision of more dedicated cycle areas for sport and recreation, Improvement of the cycling infrastructure to provide a well connected system of shared or segregated routes so that journeys can be made quickly and safely” bit:
