entry level road bike

Hello, I’ve got a Trek 1.2, I’m really new to the road bike game but someone recommended me an entry level Trek as a good starting point. I ride it to work every day, 6 miles there and 6 back and it’s a lovely ride. I was on a hybrid before then and the Trek is so much lighter and quicker. I live on the 3rd floor and carry it up and down the stairs every day without problems. Most of the accessories are either Bontrager or Shimano and I’m no expert like I’ve said but everything has held up really well in the 6-7 months I’ve had it, I’ve not had any problems or had to replace any parts and I’m now a big fan of Bontrager stuff, it’s a little more expensive but all really good quality and lasts. I do look after it, cleaning it every couple of weeks and lubing the chain etc but you need too if you’re spending good money on this sort of bike. Another thing I would say is that the shop tried to get me to upgrade the tires when I bought it, I didn’t and the standard tires are still going strong, only a couple of punctures but can’t compplain riding through Central London. The only additions I’ve got are a pair of Bontrager RL road shoes and Shimano SPD pedals, makes riding feel so much smoother with your feet connected to the pedals. I’ve not tried the Felt or Lapierre so I guess this is a bit of a biased review in that respect but I hope it helps.
