Quick Release for my new Mavic wheels

So having spent the wrong side of £1k on a new set of Mavic UST wheels that don't come with any adaptors to fit "older" road bikes they also don't come with any quick release skewers. Mavic seem to skewer customers with £14 for a widget of an adaptor but rant over any recommendations for solid quick releases?
