Im wondering how effective this rim is in terms of aeroness (new word?) as the company bill it as such but I havent seen any data about it even though its been around for a while.

Anybody got any info / advice?

615 grams is getting pretty heavy, and I would think that unless you are over 8okgs it might feel a bit harsh. Aero in the old way – deep and straight sides. I would expect these to roll like wagon wheels and be good on the flat on a windless day, but not sure they would be a good all-round rim in alloy, at least not on windy hilly rides. I would be taking a hit on depth and looking at the 27-30mm mark which will come in under 500 grams and look for a more contemporary rounded shape like this:

    Kinlin Wide Range

Or a DTswiss 460, benchmark cheap wide rim.

Finally depends on use case – bombing on the flat and want something that looks deep and brakes well – then these would fit the bill, though why I would be tempted by some cheap 50mm carbon hoops like Prime for £500…
