road
The urge has been too great and I have just bought another motorbike after 8 years away from it.
Gone for an unfaired 400cc option, so no daft carrying on and track days like I used to do my zx6r as I am a parent now. Just hopefully going to be able to cruise and enjoy a ride out.
Not going to cycle any less though as I no desire to get fat!

That DT125 has made me
That DT125 has made me remember I also owned a KMX125 for some green lane japery (which depending on where you live is literally next to nothing). Ok bike but highly offensive sounding and I didn’t appreciate it went it went pop on me and locked the back end. Clutch in and change the trousers. Ate chains as well for some reason.

Another ZZR600 owner here in
Another ZZR600 owner here in days gone by, it was a challenge to get as far up Paseo de la Castellana before any of the lights turned red (there’s quite a few sets). Also had a DT175 which was as cheap as a DT125 to insure back in the good old days. First bike was a Suzuki TS50, then a CB100. Carving another dirt bike to stick on the back of the 4×4.

Started out with a Kawasaki
Started out with a Kawasaki KMX200 before moving on to a ZZR600.
Had a brief flirtation with a Honda CBR600 before seeing sense and purchasing a Kawasaki ZX-7R which I kept for ten years.
Tried to be sensible by moving on to a ZRX1200R and then a Z1000 before buying another ZX-7R.
By 2016, I was cycling way more than riding the ZX-7R so sold it on and used some of the proceeds to buy an Orro Terra Gravel.
I’ve been hit by vehicles three times riding the Orro so I’m thinking of naming it ‘Lady Luck’.Anonymous

Only 53hp but I now like the style and may vandalise it over winter and chop the rear subframe and turn it into a cafe racer.
No!
That’s too beautiful to molest!
Choose something less rare and so well proportioned, please.maviczap

Had motorcycles for most of
Had motorcycles for most of my adult life. First was a Honda CB100N. First day I had it I decided to ride to see some friends in North Wales. I lived in Essex at the time. They weren’t in so I came home again. Moved on to a Z400j, CB900 with dream machine custom paint job, 3 FJ1200s and a Ducati 748 that I have owned for the last 20 years. Not looked at another bike in all that time and then I saw this, and made it mine.
Never got into the 400 sports bikes, pity really as most everyone who had one has fond memories. Did borrow an RGV250 for an afternoon once and spent a frustrating afternoon in the Yorkshire Dales trying to be in the right gear for the right corner. Sublime when it did come together though.

@Yorkshire wallet a mate of mine had a CB400 like yours. It was a sweet bike, so easy to ride.
My man. My VFR400 was also my favourite bike and I was stupid to let it go. Stick on some BT90s and grind those pegs. Amazingly smooth motor, so much more usable than my mates ZXR400 which only seemed to come on from 12000rpm. Another guy had a KR1S which was an utter beast.
400s were always the bike the UK needed but barely offically got if you wanted a sports bike but weren’t ready for a 600 onwards. I went Rg125FUN (destricted of course), FZR250, VFR400, CBR400 with a yellow urban tiger paintjob and then onto the ZX6R which was as fast anyone would really need imo.

I wish. Mrs Srchar has closed off that particular avenue of pleasure since the arrival of Miss Srchar. She’s not best pleased at my insistence on cycle commuting, but I told her that no riding to work means no working đŸ™‚
What bike did you go for?
I may start negotiations for a Ducati 916 in a glass case in the garden. Art.

Yup although I don’t do sports bikes and ride an XT660 Tenere. Not the fastest but it has a commanding view and I can go off road if necessary.
