Giant TCR Advanced 1 2018 vs TCR Advanced Pro 2 2017

    Hi all,

     

    Getting a new bike. Stuck between two.

     

    Same price for both, the amazingly reviewed Giant TCR advanced 1 with Ultegra Groupset, or a 2017 TCR Advanced Pro 2 with a 105 groupset.

     

    Which would you recommend?

    Pro has a carbon steerer fork.

    Went for the advance 2 myself and it is great but I change bikes every 2-3 years.

    I would get the Pro 2.

    The pro has a full carbon

    The pro has a full carbon fork and frame, while the non pro’s fork is carbon with an aluminium steerer. I guess the main difference there would be weight. Personally I would for the pro as it’s harder to upgrade a fork than it is other components (at least a fork that matches the rest of the bike) and as P.Radio says, there’s not much real world difference between Ultegra and 105 (other than weight).

    Advanced Pro 2 for me.

    Advanced Pro 2 for me.

    You will not notice a difference between the groupsets. Both are great.
