Any recommendations for a hire company never been before so no experience of any of the local companies staying near Palma

https://bikehead.cc/our-bikes/ used many times and have great bikes. Their main shop is in Palma with another one in Port Pollensa. Not the cheapest but hiring a tarmac or supersix di2 is a joy

Used Berganti bikes https://bergantibikes.com a couple times right on the front in Can Pastilla, 7k from Palma, decent bikes (Ridley or cheaper generic brand) , and good service. There are loads though, might be a couple attached to your hotel as well, worth checking out.
