You have no doubt read my waffle before about my Allez and then my father falling for road bikes again and his bargain of a Carrera TdF, etc.

Well he loves my Allez as it is light (for price point)and he loves the curve of the seatstays, etc. So yesterday turns up with a silver one of his own!

Finding it in his size and on sale at £399 he could not resist.

As for the TdF – well my son now has just got his first and very nearly new, road bike!

I have a couple of plans to make it more ‘his’ but other than that I think the TdF is a great bike for him to start out on.

Forgot to update all the bits
Forgot to update all the bits fitted and it looks the part for sure. Seatpost can’t quite drop low enough in the frame to be ideal so need to track down a shorter one than the 350mm supplied.

The bosses for the cage on the seat tube stop it getting lower btw.

Also fitted a bottle cage for him. He seemed over the moon and understandably so imho.

Thanks guys. Only downside is I have collect the bike today at lunchtime and ride it home. Not too far but on a bike to small for me should be interesting!

I have the carbon spacers and some halfclips (he is not used to anything other than flatties on his MTB) sitting in the garage waiting for fitment already.
