Quick question but can you fit a campag cassette on direct drive trainers? Having looked on google i can’t seem to find an answer so was just wondering if anyone on here has come across this issue.

    Cheers

As long as you are not doing full gas out of the saddle sprints and trying to throw the bike about under you, putting any bike on a trainer should be ok. My Scott Foil lives on my Flux in the winter (3rd winter now) without issues.

worth reading this about who’ll actually warranty your bike on the turbo though:

    ahhh right excellent then,

ahhh right excellent then, that makes life easier!

in terms of the sprints etc it is more that i am not exactly a hill specialist in that i am quite a big old unit and i also seem to suffer under legislation commonly known as sods law where i can pretty much guarantee i would put the summer bike on the trainer once and it would crack or something. For the sake of just using the winter bike on it i don’t have a real issue on that front when i come to buy a turbo.

Cheers again guys, definitely good to know regarding the cassette!

Cheers guys, do the likes of tacx, wahoo etc produce the alternative freehubs?

The issue i have is that the bike that would be used on it is a 10spd campag so i suspect it will definitely need changing over. Can’t even really get away with using my summer bike which is shimano if i go down this route since its a cannondale synapse and judging by the warranty information shouldn’t be used on a turbo or it will be invalidated.

I used to swap the freehub as said on my 10 spd set up with a muin but now I’ve went 11sp I just leave the shimano hub/cassette on and it works fine with my campag gears.

    You need a different freehub
You need a different freehub on my Kickr. Straight forward to change but additional cost.

If I recall rightly, the Taxcx Neo has some form of universal freehub.
