Mavic Ksyrium SSC rear axle

    Hi,

    Newbie to forum. Happy New Year.

    I recently took my road bike to a local shop to check out the rear wheel. The wheelset is an old school Mavic Ksyrium SSC. I was informed that my rear axle is slightly bent which is causing the cassette to oscillate a bit and the cause for the crank to ghost when coasting. So, I am looking for a new or used replacement axle which has been really difficult. One option is to buy a used hub from the states and hope the axle is straight. I have new rims on both front and rear so really want to keep keep the wheels going.

    Really grateful if anyone knows where I might source one, new or used. I know the wheels are old.but …

    Thanks for your replies and for looking in the cold, really appreciated. I did contact the seller of the broken rear SSC as I had the same idea but I have not received a response. There are some complete hubs from the US but I just don’t know if they are absolutely right. I have new rims on the wheels and they look fantastic on my my black Litespeed carbon frame.
    Oh well, have to keep trying. Thanks again

    SSCs usually come up on ebay

    SSCs usually come up on ebay in varying states from the odd mint pair to totally fubar’d and just spokes and maybe the hub being useable.

    Here’s one where the rear is probs salvageable for your needs, you could maybe contact the seller and sort something out.

    I love my SSCs, still use them on my carbon bike in the winter and my old school titanium racer when it gets an outing.
