Genuine user advice Canyon/Spesh SL6

    I’m interested in upgrading from a 2014 Supersix Evo HM build and looking at the Tarmac SL6 Sworks as a custom build, as this has recently caught my eye. I’d be interested to know if anyone has one yet and what their opinion is.

    secondly as a reduced cost alternative I’m eyeing up a Canyon aeroad custom build as this saves approx 5-600 quid on the build, I appreciate this is a different bike to the Tarmac but it again is too good to ignore.

    I mainly ride flat and lumpy, enjoy going fast, not a great climber but obviously want something that isn’t going to make the hills even harder.

    what are opinions on both options?

     

    I’m not a fan of Cannondales latest colourways hence why I’ve ruled out.

    Thanks for your interest in Canyon bikes!

     

    Are you looking for a complete bike or just the frameset? The Aeroad is our most aerodynamic bike. The geometry is more aggressive than our other road models but it is well poised and balanced with great aerodynamic stability. You will no doubt have a huge amount of fun riding the Aeroad. Whilst it’s heavier than our Ultimate frame, it will by no means make you come to a grinding hault when going up hill.

     

    Have you looked at our Ultimate range too? All of our road bikes come in complete bikes and framesets. The Ultimate is our lightest road bike, it’s stiff, responsive and ideal for climbing. Both bikes have a racier geometry but are still comfortable to ride.

     

    The Endurace on the other hand has a more relaxed geometry. It’s more upright and stable with a shorter top tube and taller head tube and designed more around comfort. This bike would be great for those training rides and long days in the saddle!

     

    We offer great value for money on all of our bikes but if you’re looking to build the bike up yourself with components you already have then the frameset is a great option.

    Your current bike is pretty

    Your current bike is pretty amazing, I’d say. Performance-wise, not sure if SL6 will bring you 5% difference, if any.

    I have the same Cannondale as

    I have the same Cannondale as you do. I’ve ridden the Spesh and found it just as comfortable but not as precise handling, FWIW.
