End caps with long tongue

    Hi

Sorry if this has been asked before but I brought a groupset (6800) and there are two end caps with short tongues (which I know go into the shifters) but there was also 3 end caps with long tongues supplied. Where do these go? I can imagine one goes into the barrel adjuster on the rear mech but the other two I am not sure about. Are these for where the gear cables go into the down tube or come out?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the help.

    Thanks for the help.

I am still a little confused why I have three. There are two gear cables going into the frame from the shifters so I could use them for that. Front mech doesnt need one where it comes out so should I use the last one where the gear cable comes out of the frame at the rear mech? or where the cable goes into the barrel adjuster?

Alternatively should I use them for the brake internal cables?

    As hennahairgel has said but

As hennahairgel has said but also as you have said some frames with internal routing still need an end cap on the outer cable as it goes into the frame (some dont) if unsure about your own (i’m assuming internal frame) use them, it’s not costing you anything but not using them and losing gear shifting as the outer sleve of the outer cable gets pushed up/the coiled part enters the frame will ruin your ride and take time/money to put right.

    They’re for external cable

    They’re for external cable stops

Check the width – some will

Check the width – some will be for gears, some may be for brakes?
