    Hi,

Ive been using my C24’s for 18 months now and love them. I have ridden them through bad weather as well but always kept clean and maintained.

The laquer has a tendancy to lift in places where water has gotten under, i nparticular around the small drainage holes. However, on my rear wheel the water has gotten in under the carbon coating and started to lift, with a splt in the carbon.

The wheel is still completely true, but I’m wondering how this can be fixed.

    Any ideas?

    thanks

    Chris

    Thanks for the help everyone.
Thanks for the help everyone. I’m on holiday at the moment so can’t post a photo. The issue will be if they see it as wear and tear. However, there is no damage to the rim, no impact damage, no abrasion damage. It looks as if water got into the water drainage hole and started to lift the ladder. This has gotten worse and the carbon seemed to bubble. And now the carbon is splitting along the grain so I can now just see the alloy underneath. Like I said I can understand that riding them in the wet the lacquer may lift ( although you would have thought shimano would have worked out how to stop this at this price), so I would put that down to general use. I have used them on a short ride every couple of weeks in winter but cleaned them. However, a split? Compromising strength? Not so sure, surely not built to last or for intended purpose? I’ll post a photo when I get back. Thanks again

    I was under the impression

I was under the impression that all Shimano products were covered by a 2 year warranty, so should be able to return them without difficulty.

    Dear Chris,

    Dear Chris,

    Do you have a picture?

Could it be a warranty claim if the carbon’s coming undone from the alloy? Where did you buy from, some dealers offer 2 year warranties.

Or a home made clamp, surface prep and some epoxy?

    kindest wishes

    Pete
