I’ve one that attaches to the bottle cage mounts by Token that does the job admirably: A tenner from Fleabay.

I’ve used it on bikes with band-on and brazed front mechs.

That deffo attahces to the bottle cage mounts & not the FD direct?

Ah, you know what—you’re right, it fits between the mech and the mount. I’m away from the bike at the mo, and my memory’s not what it was … 😉

No worries mate, I thought it did but I wasn’t gonna call you a liar!

My Krex looks just like that. It has a brilliant little grub screw to adjust the clearance to the inner ring. Never had a problem with it and never dropped the chain since I fitted it.

Spend more if you want to!

Had a couple of bad experiences with non bike related stuff from Taiwan/China so rightly or wrongly always a biy wary.

Worth considering tho, not pushed the button on anything yet!

To (kind of) answer my own

To (kind of) answer my own question I’ve found one on the Canyon website that attaches to the bottle cage holder on the seat tube.

It’s £17 but £7 P&P which is a bit much, presumably as it’s shipped from Germany.

Seems like a decent option (if it fits on a non Canyon bike which I can’t see why it wouldn’t) as I’m not confident enough to start messing about with the front mech.

A Deda Dog Fang works perfectly well and costs around £6.99.

I’ve looked at that quite extensively & seem to get mixed reviews as to whether it works well or not.

Worked for me, until I got a frame that had so much tube shaping near the BB that it wouldn’t fit.

So I used one of these, same price and works perfectly, nicely adjustable too:

    There’s others even cheaper:

    Cheers for that.

I like the way on the 1st link on the 2nd pic in the description it shows the £40 K Edge version which isn’t what they are actually selling!

You can still have the bottle cage attached as well as this I take it?
